Some of our larger projects
The 'Jamestone Settlement' in Virgina, US, is a reconstruction of the settlement of the same name by the colonists in the New World. Next to the colonist's fortress and the village of the native inhabitants of the area, the Powhatan, you can also visit reconstructions of the three ships that sailed from England to Virginia: the Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery.

Dublinia lets you experience (early) medieval Dublin in an interactive way. Mid-June 2017, Madurodam opened New Amsterdam, an interactive family attraction telling the story of the Dutch roots of New York. This captivating experience lets you travel through time and enjoy the sensation of the 17th century. You board the ship De Vergulde Bever (the Gilded Beaver) and sail from Amsterdam to New Amsterdam, the city that is called New York today.
Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna
Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna, a heritage trust run by volunteers with a passion for history, manages several historical sites in Valetta, Kalkara and the surrounding area. This Maltese heritage trust gave us the commission to reconstruct suits of armour for cavalry and infantry armour from the time of the Siege of Malta. The armours are used during tournaments and fighting demonstrations. For this project, we did intensive research in Musée de l'Armée to armours from this period.
The Golden hind, the reconstruction of which you can visit on the banks of the river Thames in London, was an English galleon that sailed the world. It was a privateer ship under the command of Francis Drake between 1577 and 1580.
The Archeon in Alphen aan den Rijn is the largest living history park in the Netherlands. The visitor journeys through Dutch history, from prehistory to the late Middle Ages, via reconstructed buildings and re-enactors that ensure an interactive visit. The daily reconstruction of a gladiator battle is one of the highlights of a visit to the Archeon.
