The baselard was a handy Swiss dagger that was developed in the 13th century near Basel. Baselards were used until the 17th century, especially because they were so effective against armour. The dagger can be pulled very quickly because it has two cross-guards. However you grapple the grip, it is always ready for use. Besides this weapon can be used for stabbing from the fist, so the impact will be extra hard.
This baselard is based on a 15th century original. It has a sharp carbon steel blade with a 50-52 HRC hardness. This dagger has a hardwooden grip and is delivered including scabbard.

Tip: How to adjust the finish of your armour and weaponry
Luxurious (polished)- polish the steel with metal polish or toothpaste. You can even give the item a mirror-like polish. Test on a small surface first!
Handmade (matte)- soak the steel in cola for 40 minutes to 20 hours. Check regularly and treat with black sandpaper.
Antique (patinated) leave the steel to rust for some time in a damp environment, preferably outside. Remove the red layer of rust, to reveal the corroded top layer.
