The waistcoat developed in the second half of the seventeenth century into a permanent part of European men's clothing: it was worn over the shirt and under the long justaucorps and together with the trousers formed the three-piece men's suit. Early models were long and closed high at the front, but over the course of the eighteenth century the neckline was cut increasingly deeper and the skirts were gradually shortened.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis model is inspired by the waistcoats from the middle of the eighteenth century. The long skirts still recall the early forms, while the deeply cut front already points towards the more open models of the later eighteenth century. The waistcoat is made of sturdy canvas (100% cotton) and closes with a button list featuring silver-coloured decorative buttons. Two practical outer pockets offer space for your belongings and with the lacing cord on the back you adjust the width to your liking.
