This craftmen`s axe was used from approx. the 9th century on. Later the model was taken over by the rest of Europe and axes with similar blades were used on the British Isles until the 16th century. Vikings often brought their everyday household axes in battle, like this type.

This axe is battle-ready and can be used in re-enactment battles. For extra safety, you can make the corners of the axe blade rounder. It is fastened tightly on the shaft with a historical nail.
