The replica of a Viking hat is based on textile fragments from Haithabu and Birka. These hats were crafted from fabric and sometimes trimmed with fur, for extra warmth to the head. It is possible to decorate this hat yourself by adding fur or embroidery.
The hat is constructed in the historical herringbone motif weaving method. This is a historical weaving method that has been employed for centuries, from the early Middle Ages to the present day in Harris Tweed, for example. The hat is crafted from sturdy cotton and is available in two sizes.
