Product description
The butt cap is crafted after originals that were employed between the 1st century BC and the 13th century. Butt caps protected the back of the shaft from wear. In themselves, these points were also powerful weapons. This permitted the warrior to utilise the back of the spear as a weapon. They were used for javelins such as the Roman pilum, as well as for cavalry spears and Germanic and Viking spears.
