Product description

Medieval shoes of this type were worn throughout Europe between the second half of the 14th and 15th centuries. Ankle boots provide extra support to the foot and ankle, and were consequently a particularly popular style of footwear. Towards the 15th century, shoes had become extremely expensive; the average person could barely afford to purchase new ones. As a result, shoes were mended and handed down within the family.

The shoes are crafted from 2 mm thick cowhide. The soles are 5–6 mm thick and can be fitted with shoe nails.
