During LARP events these capsules, with gelatine-based artificial blood, may be employed for all manner of purposes. The capsule is placed in the mouth for a few minutes and bitten into when struck. The capsules are sensitive to moisture and easily broken with the teeth. The capsules consist of lactose, corn starch, gelatin, calcium carbonate, citric acid, sodium bicarbonate, sodium saccharin, food colourants titanium dioxide and iron oxides. They are supplied in sets of 10 pieces. The blood can easily be removed from the skin with water and soap. Whilst the capsules may be swallowed without causing harm, it is nonetheless advisable to avoid doing so.
