Product description
The hauberk is constructed from flat rings riveted with wedge rivets and round, butted rings. These are interwoven four in one and have an inner diameter of 8 mm. The hauberk has mid-length sleeves and reaches just over the hip.
Chainmail shirts of this type were worn from the second half of the 14th century. From this period, chainmail shirts and parts with wedge-shaped rivets increasingly replaced chainmail with round rivets.
This type of chainmail shirt was known as the haubergeon, a diminutive form of the longer chainmail hauberk. Haubergeons weighed less and permitted greater freedom of movement. They were worn beneath armour until the 16th century.
It is available in sizes M, L and XL. The chest circumference is measured including a gambeson (subarmalis).
