Product description
This large mouth harp is hand forged from iron, in a model that is very similar to finds from the Viking Age and early Middle Ages. The jew's harp is one of the oldest musical instruments in the world, with its own varieties found on almost every continent — from the doromb in Hungary to the dan moi in Vietnam. In Europe the instrument spread from Asia during the Iron Age and early Middle Ages; A bronze Jew's harp from the Iron Age has even been found on Gotland.
Due to the larger size, this copy is easier to play and has a darker tone with a longer aftertaste than smaller models.
Nice for re-enactors who want to play an authentic-sounding instrument during an event or campfire evening, and an attractive gift for music lovers with an interest in old instruments.
