The dress is fashioned after several medieval originals depicted in paintings, tapestries, and manuscripts. Garments of this style were worn throughout medieval Europe, from the 8th until the 15th century, by all classes in society. It is a truly characteristic design for the Middle Ages.

Add extra room to this for a comfortable fit.: Regular fit: add 8–12 cm to your chest circumference. Loose fit / broad shoulders: add 12–19 cm to your chest circumference. Compare the result with the size chart and choose the size whose chest measurement is equal to or greater than your calculated size. Example: If your chest circumference is 100 cm and you want a normal fit, add about 10 cm of extra room. This gives you approximately 110 cm. Then choose the size whose chest measurement in the size chart is at least 110 cm.
