Product description
The Roman lantern is based on originals from the 1st–3rd century AD, found in Pompeii, Libya and England. These lanterns were therefore used throughout the Roman Empire. The lantern has 3 brass chains for hanging, and a handle at the end permits you to carry it whilst walking about, though it may equally be set upon a table. Crafted from brass and parchment with ventilation holes, the lantern features an oil container inside that can be removed for refilling. The lantern may then be lit in an authentic manner using vegetable oil and a wick. The oil container may also be removed entirely, allowing the interior to be illuminated with a tea light or larger candle. This is a wonderful accessory for Roman reenactment, living history and LARP, and makes for a distinctive work of art whether displayed in the garden or the living room — one that will surely be enjoyed for many years to come.Product details
