Description

This Viking axe is a replica of a 10th century original excavated in Mammen in Denmark. Today it is part of the collection of the National Museet in Copenhagen. This axe was found in a man's grave, probably of a Viking chieftain or a very rich Viking. This Viking axe is decorated in the Mammen style. This Viking art style owes its name to this axe! In the original, the engravings were inlaid with silver.
