Gauntlets of this type were mainly worn during tournaments and by the heavy cavalry of the 15th century. Much like mittens, the gauntlets are constructed from steel plates, though contrary to mittens the fingers remain free to move. Crafted from 1.6 mm thick steel, these gauntlets feature an inner glove well-suited to a glove size of 8–10.
