Product description
Around the beginning of the 15th century, armour mittens were developed. In armoured mittens, the fingers were protected by small pieces of steel, which were significantly weaker than larger steel plates that protected all fingers simultaneously. Therefore, in the first half of the 15th century, gauntlets or mittens became increasingly popular amongst men-at-arms. Gauntlets such as these form part of the Avant armour, amongst others. These gauntlets are dispatched without inner gloves.Product details
