Product description
The main gauche — literally 'left hand' — is a 17th-century parrying dagger that was used together with a rapier. While the rapier attacked, the dagger in the other hand caught and deflected the opponent's strikes. This type with the large, triangular 'sail' hilt was especially popular in Spain around the 1630s–1640s.
The dagger has a striking, broad metal parrying plate that fully protects the hand while also catching enemy blades. The blade is steel and is supplied with a matching scabbard.
The blade is semi sharp.
