Product description
The Alemannic belt buckle is based on originals excavated at the Niederstotzingen burial (Germany). Buckles of this type were worn by all Germanic and Merovingian tribes during the 6th century AD. The belt buckle was excavated in grave 9, a male grave.
This buckle is well-suited to belts with a width of up to 3 cm. The buckle measures 5 x 4.5 cm.
The graves of the South German town of Niederstotzingen contained many luxurious burial gifts. Alongside this belt buckle, a sword, seax, shield edge, shield boss, lance, needles, knife, scissors and silver horse reins were found.
