Product description
This type of fibula was worn throughout Europe around the 6th century AD. The beautiful art style was employed in Friesian, Langobardic, Merovingian, Frankish and Anglo-Saxon jewellery, amongst others. These jewels were regularly utilised for trade. The enamelled brooch is a replica of an original, which was used as an Alemannic grave gift in grave 511 in the Alemannic grave field of Weingarten. The brooch has an inlay of two different colours of enamel.
