Product description
This amulet is a reproduction of a find from Daugmale in Latvia, probably dating from the 10th century. Archaeologists do not fully agree on the identity of the figure depicted: he may represent the dwarf Andvari with his magic ring, a figure from the Sigurd saga, or possibly a Scandinavian warrior.
According to legend, Andvari possessed the magical ring Andvaranaut, which eventually became cursed after Loki stole it — a story that later inspired the Nibelungenlied and The Lord of the Rings, among others.
Solid cast from fine ornamental bronze; also available in silver.
