Product description
The buckle is based on an original find from Anglo-Saxon England. Decorated with a filigree knotwork motif, it measures 4.0 x 3.5 cm and is well-suited to belts of 2.0 cm in width. It is bronze coloured.
Anglo-Saxon art was influenced by Viking art. The Vikings settled in the north of Anglo-Saxon England from the later ninth to early tenth centuries. Amongst the Anglo-Saxons they settled, intermarriage gave rise to a hybridised culture. A mix of the two art styles is known as Anglo-Scandinavian.
