Product description
The buckle is based on an original find from Anglo-Saxon England. Decorated with a filigree knotwork motif, it measures 4.0 x 3.5 cm and is well-suited to belts of 2.0 cm in width. Anglo-Saxon art was heavily influenced by Viking art. The Vikings settled in the north of Anglo-Saxon England from the later ninth to early tenth centuries, where they married Anglo-Saxons and created a hybridised culture. A blend of the two art styles is known as Anglo-Scandinavian.
