Product description
In the early 15th century, complete suits of armour began to appear in Northern Italy, known today as Milanese armour. This style was worn throughout Europe and was not limited to any single region. The Milanese style is characterised by large, rounded, and unadorned plates. Helmets typically included the sallet, armet, and barbute, and a full mail hauberk was worn beneath a Milanese suit. Whilst Milanese armour pieces were often employed as a complete suit of armour, knights sometimes wore only individual parts.
This arm armour is based on historical Milanese originals. Armours of this kind formed part of, for example, the Churburg S18 armour. Armour of this type was worn throughout Europe between 1390 and 1450, and similar armour continued to be utilised into the 16th century.
The armour is constructed from 1.6 mm steel and is well-suited to reenactment.
