Product description

This fibula in the shape of a sun wheel ending in four snake heads is based on a grave find from Kernavė in the Anduliai Kretinga region in Lithuania, dating from the Viking Age of the 9th-10th century.

Executed in bronze, with a diameter of 4 cm. On the back side there is a sturdy pin.

The spiral shape symbolizes the sun and thus prosperity and growth, while the snake stands for health and rebirth; the four ends refer to the cardinal directions and at the same time to the four seasons. A fine addition to your equipment for Viking Age re-enactment.
