Product description
The basket hilted broadsword was used principally by the Scots. They are sometimes also called basket hilted claymores, as the blade was often crafted from a broken claymore blade. The grip features a large basket that not only protected the hand but also provided a better balance.
The basket of this broadsword is a replica of a basket typical of Glasgow, developed by the Simpson family. This decorative broadsword has been crafted with two semi-sharp edges and a double fuller in the blade. Its length is 99 cm, with a blade of 85 cm and a maximum width of 3.6 cm. The sword weighs 1.4 kg excluding the scabbard.
