Product description
The bag is a direct reconstruction of a grave find from Rösta, Jämtland (Sweden), dating back to the 10th century. The design is also based on similar finds from the famous Viking trading centre Birka (Sweden), specifically from graves 93B, 154, 716, 731, 855, 904, 943 and 956. These "type 3A bags" are known as "Birka Viking bags", although their origins actually lie on the Hungarian steppes. They were probably brought to Scandinavia as imported goods via contacts with the Magyars. They have been found widely throughout the Viking world, having been spread via trade. The bag is well-suited to re-enactors portraying Vikings, Magyars, Rusvik Vikings, Avars and Slavs.
