This shaft cap may be attached to the back of a shaft. It has been designed specifically for Greek spears. The shaft cap protects the shaft against splintering and damage, whilst also providing the spear with greater balance. The Greeks employed the shaft cap as a spare spearhead when the primary spearhead broke off. It may also be used to fix your spear in the ground.

Prevent rust and corrosion by regularly oiling your weapons. Rust may be easily removed with black sandpaper. Remove burrs with a whetstone. Ensure all burrs have been removed before using your battle-ready weapon. Burrs can cause wounds.
Tip: how to adjust the owner's finish and weapons
Luxury (polished) - Polish the steel with a metal polishing agent or toothpaste. With this you can even polish an article. First test on a small surface!
Handmade (matt) - Place the steel for 40 minutes to 20 hours in cola. Check the matt finish regularly. Equalise the finish with black sandpaper.
Antiques (patinated) - Place the steel for a while in a damp environment (preferably outside) and allow it to rust. Brush the red layer of rust away; the corroded top layer remains.

3. Paper packaging for jewellery and small items: have a plastic inner layer. Remove this, and then separate paper and plastic.
