Product description

The helmet is a replica of a 19th century find in the Thielle river in Port, near Nidau (Switzerland). The original is from the La Tène III or La Tène D period. The Port type helmet was also worn by the Gauls, presumably at the time of Caesar's Gaul wars (58–50 BC), and the shape of this helmet was adopted by the Romans and developed into the imperial galea Weisenau. Typical of the Port type helmet are the shape of the cheek guards, the embossed eyebrows, and the protruding riveted neck protector. The helmet is delivered including a cap for extra wearing comfort. There are rings on the inside of the cheek guards, permitting the helmet to be fastened with a chin strap.
