For centuries, the chemise formed the first layer under clothing: a linen or cotton undergarment that protected the valuable outer clothing against skin oil and sweat, while it itself lay softly against the skin. In the early modern period, the neck was given a lower cut to match the fashion of the time, a shift that is reflected in this model through the adjustable neck. This chemise takes over that function in a light, wrinkled cotton fabric that is somewhere between historical simplicity and contemporary wearing comfort.

The model has a loose fit and a neck and wrists that are secured with thin cords of the same fabric, so that you can wear the neck loose or closed as desired. The roomy sleeves and hem that extends far below the knee give the chemise an authentic, timeless drape. Colour: natural.
