Product description
Clogs have been worn since the High Middle Ages. They are ideal for walking and even served as a form of protective footwear for crafts or working in the fields. The oldest clogs, in a model similar to this one, found in the Netherlands date from 1230 and 1280 AD and were discovered in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Clogs were worn throughout Europe well into modern times, making them perfect for historical costumes ranging from the Middle Ages up to the 20th century.
These clogs are made from poplar wood and reinforced with a leather band for added durability. A pair of clogs weighs approximately 1.3 kg.
