Product description
At the end of the 15th century, the closed helmet developed from the Aardet and later versions of the sallet. This type of helmet is very similar to the Armet, but opens in a different way: where an Armet opens sideways via two hinged cheek pieces, a closed helmet opens vertically via an integrated, rotating bevor that is attached to the same pivot points as the visor. In the early 16th century, a new style of armor developed among the Tudors in England — the Greenwich style, in which armor followed the forms of clothing fashion. Closed helmets in this style are characterized by an upward-facing visor in the shape of a ship's bow, and were very popular among the entire European aristocracy.
This closed helmet is made from steel, 1.6 mm, with a stylized crest influenced by the all'antica style and a plume holder. Suitable for re-enactment and HEMA.
