Recommended combination
Product description
The sword is based on medieval originals from the time of the crusaders who travelled to fight in the Holy Land. It is well-suited to combining with a buckler or shield in battle. The blade width and balance point make it particularly effective for slashing, hacking and thrusting. Swords of this type were employed to cut through chainmail and leather armour. This single-handed sword is delivered inclusive of a matching scabbard with belt loop, special packaging and certificate of authenticity.
The Battlecry line of historical swords, daggers and axes has been designed in collaboration with John Clements. John has unsurpassed knowledge of historical fencing and medieval and Renaissance fighting methods. All items are hand-forged by the forgery of Windlass Steelcrafts from high-quality 1065 tempered carbon steel and are strong and resilient. The swords have an extra wide full tang and all weapons are sharp and suitable for cutting tests.
Each model has been put through rigorous physical testing to exceed industry standards. These battle-tested weapons have a patinated finish which makes them appear all the more authentic and historical. Each weapon is individually inspected at every stage of the manufacturing process, and only upon passing inspection does it receive the blacksmith's mark on the blade. Each weapon is dispatched inclusive of a certificate, signed by all craftsmen who have worked on the weapon. Also included is a matching scabbard and, where applicable, a swordfrog.
