Product description
The sword is based on a 13th century original, nowadays held as part of the collection of the Royal Armouries in Leeds. Classified as an Oakeshott type XII, it was amongst the first swords to feature a blade designed for both stabbing and slashing. Swords of this type were employed throughout feudal Europe and were worn during the era of the Crusades. Examples have been excavated across Europe and as far afield as Israel. Supplied complete with scabbard.
