Product description

The helmet is a replica of one discovered in Northwich, Great Britain. The cheek protectors originate from Gloucester and bear the image of a seated Neptune. At the top of the helmet, the image of hair can be seen, marking the place where wigs were often placed. Helmets of this type were mainly worn by Germanic and Celtic cavalries who served as auxiliae in the Roman armies. Such helmets were principally found in the Rhineland.

Constructed from brass, the helmet is fitted with cheek plates and a short neck plate. The helmet weighs approximately 1.5 kg and is suited to a head circumference of up to 60 cm. It is supplied with an interior cotton arming cap for additional wearing comfort.
