The Pickelhaube is a Prussian helmet designed in 1842 by Frederik-Willem the 4th of Prussia. After his son Willem had become emperor of the German Empire, it was worn by German military personnel, firefighters, and the police. It became most widely known as the German helmet of the First World War.
The helmet is a replica of a Prussian cuirassier helmet from 1889. At the front, a Prussian eagle is affixed bearing the text "Mit Gott für König und Vaterland". The helmet features a leather inlay to adjust it to the correct size and is suitable for a head circumference of up to 64 cm. It weighs approximately 1.2 kg.
