Product description
The later Roman helmet types were no longer based on Celtic designs, but presumably on the helmets from the Persian Empire, which was emerging during that period. Around the 2nd century AD the cavalry had become an essential part of the Roman army; whilst it remained a vulnerable unit, one fifth of the army consisted of cavalry. Usually this involved auxiliae.
The helmet is constructed from steel and is well-suited to a head circumference of up to 61 cm. It is supplied with a cotton arming cap.
