Product description
The replica is crafted after a Late-Roman helmet found in Dunaújváros, Hungary. Helmets of this type were worn by Roman legionaries around the 3rd century AD. During this era, a fort for auxiliary troops was maintained in Dunaújváros. It is presumed that the models of the helmets discovered there are derived from those of the Persian Empire, which was emerging in that period. The eyes on the top, however, are typically Roman.
The helmet is constructed from steel and is provided with cheek plates and a neck plate. A leather inlay has been fitted for added wearing comfort. It is well-suited to a head circumference of up to 61 cm.
