Saint Maurice is i.a. the patron saint of soldiers, sword forgery and the Swiss guard. He lived in the 3rd century AD and was originally from Thebes, Egypt. This sword is a replica of the sword that was buried with the bones of the Saint. The original was made between 1200 and 1250.

The sword is 94 cm long, with a blade of 78,5 cm long and max. 4,3 cm wide. The blade is made from carbon steel, has a full tang and is riveted to the pommel. The guard and brazilian nut shapd pommel are from steel. The sword weighs 1150 grams and is delivered including wooden, leather covered scabbard.

This sword is an Oakeshott type XII.
