Product description
The sword is based on originals crafted in the first half of the 10th century, and is classified as a Petersen Type P. Amongst the period during which swords of this kind were in use, the Vikings were establishing permanent settlements in northern England, giving rise to the Danelaw. This was a period of major Viking expansions, during which Dublin and other settlements in the Irish Sea region were founded. In 872 AD, Harald Fairhair unified Norway, whilst between 958 and 987 AD, Harald Bluetooth unified Denmark. The formation of both states was modelled on the structures of the Franks and Anglo-Saxons.Product details
