Product description
The sword is modelled after the example found in Dybek. Many early medieval swords, like this one, were richly decorated with organic and stylised knot motifs.
It measures 106 cm in length and features a blade crafted from 420 stainless steel, 50 HRC. The pommel and crossguard are constructed from brass, and the hardwood grip is wrapped in black leather.
The sword is classified as Petersen Type Z.
Dragons were the mythical counterparts of snakes and appeared in the earliest myths of modern humans. As humans spread across the globe, dragon mythology migrated with them. Amongst many Indo-European peoples, dragons play a prominent role in their mythologies. In Germanic and later Viking mythology, dragons are seen as all-destroying monsters. At the same time, they symbolise the evil beast that must be defeated by a hero. These two archetypes—the destroyer and the hero's adversary—reinforce each other.
