Early La Tènefibula, big, bronze

Product description

This beautifully decorated fibula dates from the early La Tène period of the 5th-4th centuries BC. The original, made of copper alloy, is in the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

Performed in bronze, with a size of 7 x 2 x 1 cm, almost equal to the historical original. The brace is band-shaped, as is characteristic of this Celtic fibula type, and the foot is bent back towards the brace in a wide arc - the so-called early La Tène scheme.

Fibula's of this type were widespread as vestments in the Celtic Iron Age, especially in southern Germany, Austria, Switzerland and eastern France. A nice addition to your equipment for Celtic reenactment.
