Product description

The floor-length medieval dress with 3/4-length sleeves is crafted from sturdy cotton fabric (canvas) and is loosely tailored. The strong canvas fabric makes for a sturdy, heavy dress, which is thus particularly well-suited to the spring and autumn seasons (or to winter when combined with season-appropriate undergarments). Colour-contrasting edges and filled cording make the dress truly distinctive. It features a dividing seam just below the waist and hidden pockets in the side seams. The skirt section has a wide flare and is constructed without gores (wedge-shaped pieces of fabric). Following early medieval fashion, this outer garment is rather loose-fitting and shows just a hint of a waist. We therefore recommend combining it with a leather belt. The dress is well-suited to the portrayal of women from the lower and middle classes of the early to high Middle Ages, and historically fits — amongst others — into the time of the Franks, Slavs and Vikings.
