Product description
Horns of this type were used primarily during the early Middle Ages. They were employed both for hunting and warfare, serving purposes of communication and intimidation. Signal horns were used by, amongst others, the Vikings, Anglons, Anglo-Saxons, Picts, Celts and Franks.
The signal horn is a replica of a 9th-century Anglo-Saxon original excavated in England. The horn is provided with a brass mouthpiece to produce a loud signal. Its length is 50 to 55 cm. Tip: It may be hung around the shoulder with a leather strap.
