Product description
The jewel is a replica of a 6th–7th century Merovingian original excavated in Faversham, Kent (England). Crafted by hand from enamel, this piece of jewellery faithfully reproduces a distinguished historical artefact. The original is nowadays part of the collection of the British Museum in London. Jewellery of this type was worn principally between the 6th and 8th centuries by the Frankish tribes, amongst them the Merovingians, as well as by the Anglo-Saxons.
