Product description
The replica sword is based on a historical 10th-century sword discovered in a Viking woman's grave in Finland. The pommel, grip and guard are beautifully decorated with motifs from early medieval Viking art. The decorations feature snakes in the Urnes style with ribbon motifs. The luxurious grip is crafted from dark wood with a brass band in the middle. The sword is supplied with a beautiful, luxurious leather scabbard featuring a Viking buckle and various Viking decorations in the form of a scabbard closure and a belt fitting. With this handsome belt, the sword may be worn around the waist whilst sheathed in the scabbard. The semi-sharp blade has been forged from tempered 1085 carbon steel with a hardness of 52 HRC. It is well-suited to use as an ornamental sword with a Viking costume, or displayed for decoration to bring pagan Viking atmosphere into the home. Once the blade has been blunted, it may be employed as a battle-ready sword for sword fighting in reenactment or living history battles. Also particularly well-suited to Historical European Martial Arts.
