Product description
During the 14th and 15th centuries, armoured individuals left an opening at the armpit, between the cuirass and the shoulder pieces. Maille sleeves and voiders were therefore developed from the beginning of the 14th century. Voiders ensure that a full maille haubergeon need not be worn beneath the armour in order to address these weak spots. These voiders are based upon 15th-century images.
These voiders may be attached to the gambeson or arming jacket. They may also be fitted with a textile insert so that they can be placed loose over the arming jacket.
