Product description
This sleeveless surcoat with hood is inspired by the garnache, a garment worn across much of Europe between the early Middle Ages and the thirteenth century. As a loose layer over a tunic or undergarment, it provided extra protection against weather and wind, without limiting the freedom of movement of the arms.
The surcoat is made from 100% cotton and features a generous fit with an attached hood. Thanks to the sleeveless construction, it is easy to combine with a tunic or shirt underneath, even during active pursuits.
This surcoat is suitable for re-enactment, living history and LARP, and forms a versatile base layer for various early to high medieval outfits. Hand wash and air dry.
