Product description

This beautiful late medieval dagger is based on an original early 15th c. piece from Germany. This particular type of dagger, known as bollock dagger, ballock dagger or kidney dagger, owes its quite peculiar name to the characteristic shape of its hilt that terminates at the guard with two distinctive spherical / egg-shapes lobes or bulges.

This reproduction features a single-edged, unsharpened steel blade that tapers evenly from the guard to an acute point. The octagonal grip is carved from one single piece of wood and the flat steel pommel is adorned with a decorative brass plate. The dagger comes complete with a vegetable tanned, hand-dyed leather sheath equipped with a brass chape and a belt loop. This dagger is designed as a collector’s or decoration/display piece.
