Product description

Around the beginning of the 15th century, mitten gauntlets were developed. In earlier gauntlets, the fingers were protected by small pieces of steel, which were considerably weaker than the larger steel plates that protect all fingers at once. Consequently, throughout the first half of the 15th century, mitten gauntlets became increasingly popular. Mitten gauntlets such as these form part of, amongst others, the Avant harness. These mitten gauntlets are supplied without an inner glove. With a steel thickness of 1.6 mm, they are well-suited to reenactment.
