Product description
The fibula is a replica of a 5th century original found in Pannonia, West Hungary. Such fibulae were worn by Germanic ladies in pairs on their shoulders. Often a chain with beads or other jewellery was attached between these brooches. Through the Roman legions — which frequently consisted of more than 50% Germanic Auxiliae towards the end of the empire — brooches such as these were spread throughout Europe and North Africa.
