The seax is based on originals produced on the British Isles between the 9th and 11th centuries. This type of seax is primarily found in the British Isles and Ireland, though some examples have also been discovered in Scandinavia and Germany. Seaxes such as this were employed both as weapons and as everyday cutting tools. They may also have played a ritual role in offerings.
Crafted from 9260 carbon steel, the seax features a hardwood grip with a brass crossguard and pommel.
The seax measures 35 cm in length, with a blade of 22.5 cm and a width of up to 32 mm. It weighs 200 grams and is supplied with a sheath featuring a belt loop.
